West Virginia American Water needed to increase the treatment capacity of the existing treatment facility from 2.0 MGD to 4.0 MGD while maintaining uninterrupted water treatment capabilities. The project consists of adding a new treatment area as an extension to the existing facility to house two (2) new water treatment units to compliment the four (4) existing treatment units. Other improvements include the addition of one (1) new raw water and high service pump, process piping, mechanical and electrical upgrades, and the conversion of chlorine gas to liquid sodium hypochlorite for disinfection. Ghosh Engineers provided design and construction administration phase services for the project which was placed into service February 2022.
